Water Environment Federation
Founded in 1928, the Water Environment Federation (WEF) is a not-for-profit technical and educational organization with members from varied disciplines who work toward the WEF vision of preservation and enhancement of the global water environment. The WEF network includes water quality professionals from 76 Member Associations in 30 countries.
World Resources Institute (WRI): Coastal and Marine Ecosystems
WRI’s work on coastal and marine ecosystems seeks to provide valid and useful information on the status of and threats to coastal and marine ecosystems, and offer tools and solutions to improve the management of these resources.
Water Supply Association of British Columbia (WSA)
The Water Supply Association of B.C. will represent the interests of local and regional water suppliers by providing the following: education, government lobbying, water suppliers representation, affiliations with water-related industrial associations, active participation in water supply issues, communication with members, and general information.
Environment Agency: Water Resources
The Environment Agency has a duty to secure the proper use of water resources in England and Wales. We monitor water in the environment, and issue 'abstraction licences' to regulate who can take water from the environment. These specify the amount of water someone can take from a location over a period of time. We also have a long term strategy for Water Resources that looks 25 years ahead and considers the needs of both the environment and society.
South East Kelowna Irrigation District
The South East Kelowna Irrigation District is an improvement district incorporated under letters patent by order in council of the British Columbia legislature November 2, 1920. SEKID is one of five public water utilities serving the City of Kelowna.
