VICT members hosted "Showcasing Green Infrastructure Innovation on Vancouver Island: The 2007 Series"

Showcasing Green Infrastructure Innovation on Vancouver Island: The 2007 Series was undertaken under the umbrella of CAVI – Convening for Action on Vancouver Island, and was made possible through the efforts of VICT members who hosted and provided on-the-ground leadership that brought a concept to fruition.

The 2007 Showcasing Innovation Series was a collaborative effort involving three regional districts (Nanaimo, Cowichan Valley and Comox- Strathcona) and their member municipalities, notably: City of Nanaimo, City of Courtenay, and the District of North Cowichan. “The Showcasing Innovation Series enabled the host local governments to tell their stories and share their experiences in a way that no other forum currently provides,” reports John Finnie, CAVI Chair. “The 2007 series was the catalyst for Island-wide networking and relationship-building that, in turn, has generated enthusiasm for a regional team approach to living water smart and building greener communities.”
