Time to change water-use habits in water-short Tofino, says town administrator
The District of Tofino's chief administrator has issued a challenge to the community t to keep its water use under 400,000 gallons per day writes Sarah Douziech in an online article published on July 28, 2009 by the Westerly News. This would keep demand within the support-capacity of the District's supply source during a period when river and stream levels are at record lows throughout BC.
“We need to continue to conserve as we see the overall water supply dwindle. It's time to change behaviour and change water consumption habits,” stated Bob Long.
