BC Rural Network launches website

Posted January 2006

The primary purpose of the BC Rural Network’s (BCRN) website, is to provide information to organizations that serve a rural constituency, and to members of the public who want to know about BCRN's activities and issues of importance to rural and remote communities.

The goals of the BCRN in launching this website are:

  • To build linkages between and awareness of the current work of existing rural groups and organizations in BC; and
  • To provide a forum and a network of exchange that allows rural and remote communities and organizations to voice concerns and issues, and learn from each other.

As well as providing background on the BCRN and contact information, the website offers several interactive features that allow rural organizations and individuals to add news and stories, event information, reports and studies, and links to resources, to the site. The Events and Conferences page also offers a calendar feature that not only fills you in on what's coming up in rural B.C., but also helps you to plan your own activity so as not to conflict with other events.

To add your organizational and community information, just follow the links on the appropriate page (e.g. News, Studies and Reports, and Events and Conferences). Submissions will be reviewed regularly, and you will be informed when your content is posted.

We are excited about the potential of this website to improve communication across rural and remote BC. Please contact us with your ideas and comments. To visit the website click here.
