As communities are established, as populations increase, our shared responsibility should not only be directed towards monitoring the provincial inter-ministerial and public processes in place on what has and is occurring in our local watersheds, and to our subsurface flows, but also to become visionaries for the future well being of those community residents and to the integrity of our watersheds.

EYPAW guides and water curricula database provide assistance for developing a community-based, youth water education program. These resources target youth and link educators to key community members to build partnerships to meet common water education goals. The EYPAW resources are full of ideas, checklists, references, partner lists, and community action education materials.

Give Water A Hand program activities are presented in two publications — the youth Action Guide and the Leader Guidebook (for youth leaders and teachers). The Young Water Action Team is a global network of young water professionals and students aged 18-30 with members in more than 40 countries. Our mission is to increasing the awareness, participation and commitment of young people to water-related issues. In partnership with international water organisations, YWAT is creating a network of young people who are dedicated to tacking the world's challenges with water, sanitation and hygiene.

Living Lakes is an international network and partnership whose mission is to enhance the protection, restoration and rehabilitation of lakes, wetlands, other freshwater bodies of the world and their catchment areas. The Living Lakes partnership promotes voluntary international collaboration among organizations that carry out projects benefiting lakes, wildlife, and people.

IAGLR is a scientific organization made up of researchers studying the Laurentian Great Lakes and other large lakes of the world, as well as those with an interest in such research. Specifically, we promote all aspects of large lakes research and communicate research findings through publications and meetings.
