The UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre provides information for policy and action to conserve the living world. TWC, founded in 1981, is the leading organization in Oregon dedicated to protecting Oregon's greatest wetlands. Working throughout the state, the Conservancy protects and restores these key lands by promoting private and community stewardship, supporting conservation, and working in partnership in local communities. TWC owns and manages many wetlands preserves in the Portland metropolitan area and along the Oregon coast.

The Wetlands Centre was initiated in 1986 with two overriding objectives: to rehabilitate a degraded wetland and to increase understanding of and appreciation for wetlands through communication, education and public awareness.

At the Wetlands Institute, we promote the conservation and preservation of coastal ecosystems by providing a fun and educational experience for families, school groups and vacationers of all ages.
