“The intention is to learn with and from each other about what we can do to advance community-based efforts in creating a conservation culture in BC and achieving an environmentally sustainable future,” states Pia Nagpal.
“So, what we mean by shared responsibility is that everyone has a role, and everyone can act…. all levels of government, developers, regulators, bureaucrats, consultants, planners, engineers…. we all have a role,” stated Ray Fung.
The BCWWA Young Professionals Committee is hosting a Presentation Skills for Young Professionals breakfast seminar at the Executive Hotel & Conference Centre Burnaby on November 4, 2010 at 7:30 am. This seminar is open to all BCWWA members under the age of 35 or who have less than 10 years work experience in their field. The cost of the event is $40 for members and $75 for non-members. Watershed Watch has been providing input to the Living Water Smart Water Act Modernization Process, including recommendations for the allocation of water for fish.
According to Lynn Kriwoken, the Ministry of Environment received approximately 900 written submissions from a range of individuals, First Nation organizations and stakeholder groups. In addition, over 500 participants attended the Water Act Modernization workshops.
