This seminar will introduce attendees to:

  • The basics of greenhouse gas accounting for municipal wastewater treatment and biosolids management.
  • The type and a quantity of greenhouse gas emissions from wastewater treatment and biosolids management.
  • The Biosolids Emissions Assessment Model (BEAM) developed for the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) to assess greenhouse gases from Canadian biosolids management practices, including practical application of the BEAM.
  • Quantification and selling of carbon credits.
  • The Climate Action Charter and potential changes in your existing wastewater treatment and biosolids management programs that can help fulfill your commitments
