Working Together to Protect Surface and Ground Water on Vancouver Island

Convening for action on vancouver island, feb 2007

The Ministry of Environment held a one-day workshop in Nanaimo in March 2007 to provide technical information and highlight the work being done related to water quality issues on Vancouver Island. The workshop was structured in four parts:

  1. Planning and Protection
  2. Monitoring and Assessment
  3. Case Studies
  4. Emerging Issues

In his opening remarks, Workshop Chair John Deniseger stated: “This workshop is the first one organized by the Ministry of Environment for the purpose of bringing together water resource specialists and planners at all levels of government. We hope that it will be the first in a series of annual events.”
