SLC is the only federal research and development centre devoted entirely to the river ecosystem. Our specialists are involved in a multitude of studies and research programs aimed at better understanding how the ecosystems of the St. Lawrence River function and at keeping this knowledge up to date.
Our goal is to enable users to locate and obtain access to Earth science data sets and services relevant to the global change and Earth science research. The GCMD database holds more than 15,000 descriptions of Earth science data sets and services covering all aspects of Earth and environmental sciences.
The purpose of this database is to provide gathered information regarding research being conducted throughout Canada and world-wide. This database has four sections:

This is a web-based database composed of a listing of contaminants that are used in various industrial applications. The database may be searched using a parameter or an industrial sector.
The Clean Water Network (CWN) is an alliance of more than 1,000 public interest organizations around the US working together to strengthen and implement federal clean water and wetlands policy.
We are Canada's national wildlife agency and we handle wildlife matters that are the responsibility of the federal government. This includes the protection and management of migratory birds and nationally important wildlife habitat, endangered species, research on nationally important wildlife issues, control of international trade in endangered species, and international treaties.
The Environment Agency is responsible for maintaining or improving the quality of fresh, marine, surface and underground water in England and Wales. We aim to prevent or reduce the risk of water pollution wherever possible, and to ensure that it gets cleaned up if pollution occurs that might lead to effects on ecosystems or people.
