Rainwater Management

CWRA is a national organization of individuals and organizations interested in the management of Canada's water resources. The membership is composed of private and public sector water resource professionals including managers, administrators, scientists, academics, students and users.

FAN aims to ensure that freshwater NGOs are strongly represented at international water policy forums and to ensure their voices are heard during the increasingly political water debates. FAN also aims to strengthen effective NGO participation in policy making throughout a cross-sectoral international network, incorporating the aims of different NGOs with a range of advocacy priorities.

WWC is the International Water Policy Think Tank dedicated to strengthening the world water movement for an improved management of the world's water resources and water services. Its mission is “to promote awareness, build political commitment and trigger action on critical water issues at all levels, including the highest decision-making level to facilitate the efficient conservation, protection, development, planning, management and use of water in all its dimensions on an environmentally sustainable basis for the benefit of all life on earth”.

As communities are established, as populations increase, our shared responsibility should not only be directed towards monitoring the provincial inter-ministerial and public processes in place on what has and is occurring in our local watersheds, and to our subsurface flows, but also to become visionaries for the future well being of those community residents and to the integrity of our watersheds.

For many years, First Nations, fishermen, and the conservation community have led efforts in British Columbia to develop a salmon farming industry that is safe for humans and the environment. However, industry has staunchly resisted change, putting human and ocean health at risk. Now, with industry planning to double the number of harmful fish farms on the coast of BC, groups working to promote safe farming have joined together to create CAAR.

The IRC offers news and information, advice, research and training, on low-cost water supply and sanitation in developing countries.

The Soil and Water Conservation Society fosters the science and the art of soil, water and related natural resource management to achieve sustainability. We promote and practice an ethic recognizing the interdependence of people and the environment.

WaterPartners International is committed to providing clean drinking water to communities in developing countries. Working in partnership with donors and those in need of safe water, we have helped thousands of people develop accessible, sustainable, community-level water supplies.

Since 1949, Irrigation Association® members worldwide have worked toward a shared vision – water conservation through efficient irrigation. The IA, a non-profit business, promotes and supports the irrigation industry by: providing a voice for the industry, acting as a source of technical and public policy information, raising awareness of the benefits of professional irrigation services, offering professional training and certification, and uniting irrigation professionals.

An independent, not for profit organisation, having charitable status, that shares and disseminates knowledge about water, wastewater and research into related environmental issues.
