Founded in 1992, the Center for Watershed Protection is a non-profit corporation that provides local governments, activists, and watershed organizations around the country with the technical tools for protecting some of the nation’s most precious natural resources: our streams, lakes and rivers. The Center has developed and disseminated a multi-disciplinary strategy to watershed protection that encompasses watershed planning, watershed restoration, stormwater management, watershed research, better site design, education and outreach, and watershed training.

The main goal of the IUCN Water and Nature Initiative is the mainstreaming of an ecosystem approach into catchment policies, planning and management.

The Delta Marsh Field Station, a research and teaching facility of the Faculty of Science at the University of Manitoba (Winnipeg, Canada), is located on the south shore of Lake Manitoba. Programs for research and study are offered at the Field Station.

The UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Centre provides information for policy and action to conserve the living world. Our programmes concentrate on species, forests, protected areas, marine, mountains and freshwaters; plus habitats affected by climate change such as polar regions. We also address the relationship between trade and the environment and the wider aspects of biodiversity assessment.

Ecowaters Project develops, promotes and demonstrates better wastewater management systems and practices, with an emphasis on source-separation and utilization approaches.

At the Wetlands Institute, we promote the conservation and preservation of coastal ecosystems by providing a fun and educational experience for families, school groups and vacationers of all ages.
