“The Water Balance Model powered by QUALHYMO is currently in public Beta Trial mode,” announced Ted van der Gulik. “The Inter-Governmental Partnership (IGP) anticipates that it will be September when the QA/QC process will be completed and the Beta Trail designation removed. During the interim period, the IGP is posting weekly status reports so that users are kept informed.”
The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is collaborating with the British Columbia Inter-Governmental Partnership to advance the QUALHYMO-powered “next generation” Water Balance Model. “In February 2008, TRCA published a report on two test applications pertaining to hypothetical land development proposals within the Greater Toronto Area,” stated Glenn MacMillan
The Central Saanich Integrated Stormwater Management Plan recommends that the Water Balance Model be used as a tool in development site design. “The District of Central Saanich is distinguished as the first municipality on Vancouver Island to commission an ISMP pursuant to the guidelines and recommendations in Stormwater Planning: A Guidebook for British Columbia,” stated Nirmal Bhattacharya

“Two rainfall-runoff tools have been merged to create a new tool, the Water Balance Model powered by QUALHYM, that integrates the site with the stream and watershed,” stated Ted van der Gulik. “Funded by the Province of British Columbia, the new tool supports Beyond the Guidebook: The New Business As Usual, a provincial initiative to influence the greening of the Built Environment.”
“The existing Water Balance Model is a planning tool that currently has a site focus,” stated Richard Boase. “Integration of the Water Balance Model with QUALHYMO will now provide drainage engineers with a suite of analytical capabilities, from site to watershed. As of May 1st 2001, the new integrated tool will be available to any all Internet users; and the existing Water Balance Model will be turned off.”
