Water Balance Model – On Tour!
Capture Rain Where It Falls
There is awareness and growing interest across North America and elsewhere in the potential for applying the Water Balance Model to evaluate the effectiveness of rainwater runoff source controls under different combinations of land use, soil conditions and rainfall distribution.
“Have a look at some of the Water Balance Model slideshow presentations that have been made to industry and government groups starting in 2001. This includes some of the early presentations on the water balance methodology that helped pave the way for the paradigm-shift from ‘peak flow thinking’ to ‘volume-based thinking’,” states Ted van der Gulik, Chair of the Water Balance Model initiative and former Senior Engineer in the BC Ministry of Agriculture.
