City of Surrey is a charter partner for development of the "Water Balance Model Express for Landowners"
Kick-Off Working Session in 2010
In July 2010, the City of Surrey participated in the focus group working session that initiated development of the “Water Balance Model Express” for use by landowners and homeowners. The project vision was influenced by Surrey’s Sustainability in my Backyard initiative.
“The ultimate target audience actually goes well beyond homeowners,” stated Carrie Baron, Drainage and Environment Manager with the City of Surrey. “The Water Balance Model Express is a vehicle to connect with builders, developers, consultants, real estate agents and students/educators.”
“The Express can open the door to an array of educational opportunities. It can be a resource for developers and others to help the public understand the effect of their choices and decisions on the natural environment. It could be incorporated into the curricula for high school and post-secondary institutions.”
