On December 2, 2016, the City of Pittsburgh & Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) released their “City-Wide Green First Plan” for public comment.
Green and Clean Plan
Following years of research and planning, Mayor Peduto and the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority have released a complete Clean and Green plan for Pittsburgh.
The plan outlines how Pittsburgh intends to use innovative, cost-effective, and green infrastructure approaches to manage stormwater. Implementing the plan will mitigate local street flooding and sewer backups caused by large rainstorms,” stated Mayor Bill Peduto.
“The plan presents an adaptable solution that will address the root cause of our region’s stormwater challenges by investing in integrated stormwater management infrastructure.”
“This approach is designed to guide the integration of stormwater management with the City’s capital improvement projects and urban planning process,” concluded Mayor Peduto.
