“One of the first things that strikes you as you look over top of Vancouver’s newest sustainable community, Millennium Water (2010 Olympic Games Athlete’s Village), is how noticeably green it is. The many rooftops scattered across eight city blocks are covered in vegetation,” writes Jennifer Stamp in the May/June issue of Construction Business Magazine.
“Roughly 50 per cent of each residential parcel square footage has vegetative coverage, a requirement by the City of Vancouver that aids in achieving various LEED credits.”
