FOOD SECURITY IS AT THE INTERSECTION OF LAND, WATER, IRRIGATION AND CLIMATE: “More irrigation is key to food security in British Columbia,” (flashback to op-ed published in November 2017 in the Vancouver Sun)

“Many of the Fraser’s 34 tributary riversheds have been damaged by human activity. Home to two-thirds of us, the mighty Fraser is the lifeblood of a vast watershed that stretches from the Rockies to the Pacific. The lower Fraser Valley, one of the most productive agricultural regions in Canada, is vital to B.C.’s long-term food security. A comprehensive approach is urgently needed to heal and protect this great river. My goal is to inspire and encourage British Columbians to take action and apply Watershed CPR, Conservation-Protection-Restoration,” stated Fin Donnelly.
