BC Climate Action Toolkit provides resources for local government by local government

BC communities demonstrate the breadth of climate change challenges and opportunities. Many are confronting increasingly intense natural disaster events. A lot are advancing integrated sustainability agendas that will reduce emissions as well as strengthen their prosperity.

Local governments are reallly where the rubber meets the road on climate changei. Their role is pivotal for three reasons:

  1. The challenge of acutely vulnerable local infrastructure to climatic change;
  2. The opportunity to advance an integrated economic, social and environmental agenda that supports climate protection; and
  3. The influence of local government over emission reduction opportunities.

Local priorities and local leadership will determine the path each community takes to shape our common future.  The toolkit website is a climate action resource for local government by local government in collaboration with UBCM, Smart Planning for Communities & the Province of BC.
